Group Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan
Effective January 1, 1997, the Trustees of the Automotive Parts & Service Association of Illinois Group Insurance Fund collectively designated as the APSA of Illinois Insurance Trust Committee established the APSA of Illinois Group Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan for the benefit of the members and their employees (and their spouses and dependents) of APSA of Illinois. After 15 years, the program has ended.
On December 15, 2011, the APSA of Illinois
Group Insurance Committee met and discussed the status of the AGMERP program. The Committee determined that the program had approximately one year of funding remaining, depending on utilization of the program. The Committee reviewed projected claim utilization and cash requirements that were based on the history of the program.
The Committee determined that they would adjust the benefit structure in an effort to allow the program to continue for the full calendar year of 2012, and based on projections, funds would be depleted at the end of 2012. As of December 31, 2012 the APSA of Illinois Group Medical Expense Reimbursement Plan was terminated.
